JOB SUMMARY
Plan, organize, and direct the department communication effort to increase awareness of, to promote services and programs, and to enhance the department's image locally and statewide.
TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Plan, organize, and direct the marketing, public information, special events, tourism, graphic design, and television productions.
- Investigate and decide pertinent information for press releases and author press releases.
- Receive internal memos and disseminate information to employees.
- Devise and maintain internal communications.
- Promote events through various mediums.
- Disseminate public records.
- Produce videos promoting the county.
- Assist the department in public messaging.
- To promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Media, Public Relations, or relevant field.
- Two (2) years of communication, public media, or relevant professional experience.
- Valid Driver's License with Arizona Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
- Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of distinct regions of Pinal County.
- Knowledge of effective media avenues.
- Knowledge of media centric programs like Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to break down complex decisions for the public.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The work also requires the ability to finger, grasp, reach, lift, perform repetitive motion, operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment, hear, speak, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.
