Application Tips
Design, develop, and maintain custom software applications and other technology solutions for Pinal County and develops applications to make information more accessible, increase business efficiency, and provide additional services to citizens. TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Design, develop, and maintain specialized software applications, resolve problems within scope of authority, and exercise independent judgment within department policy guidelines and quality standards.
- Plan, develop, implement, program, test, and maintain new and existing County specialty applications.
- Develop software applications using a variety of development tools and programming languages and integrate new applications with other systems applications. Create back-end interfaces for applications and websites, and integrate applications with other systems applications.
- Create front-end interfaces for software applications using a variety of programming languages.
- Design and build normalized SQL Server Databases, develop stored procedures, functions, and views for applications and business intelligence objects, and develop integration services packages and reporting services reports.
- Manage application security and access.
- Perform business analysis functions, consult with customers to understand their needs and business processes in order to develop solutions, and analyze business data to support reporting and integration requirements.
- Develop software applications through all stages of the development life cycle.
- Monitor application functionality and utilization, research security and access problems and recommend solutions, detect and correct errors, identify technical problems, which need to be addressed by improved procedures and work standards.
- To promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Three (3) years of software application development experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.
- Arizona residents must have an Arizona Driver’s License upon hire; newly established Arizona Residents must have one within 30 days of hire.
- Specific computer programming skills and languages may be required.
- Knowledge of software development planning and programming methods.
- Knowledge of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of network system access and security guidelines and procedures.
- Knowledge of SQL Server Databases and stored procedures
- Knowledge of C# and .Net
- Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services
- Knowledge of SharePoint, Drupal
- Skill in integrating and optimizing software applications.
- Ability to install, configure, test, operate, and maintain application software.
- Ability to work independently in a technical environment with interlinked and changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The work also requires the ability to finger, perform repetitive motion, hear, speak, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.
